COuld someone clarify the spelling for me...ECONOMICS in GREEK? OIKONOMIKA seems to refer to something different (ancient works). Is that true. Thank you!
Regards,

Serhiy

Serhiy,

yes OIKONOMIKA is ECONOMICS in Greek.
Further to this, ΟΙΚΟΝΟΜΙΑ is ECONOMY, OIKONOMIKOS is ECONOMIC and OIKONOMOLOGOS is ECONOMIST.
The word "OIKONOMIA" is composed of two parts:
1. OIKOS meaning 'house' or 'clan'
2. NOMH (this noun sounds as "nomi") from the verb NEMO, which means 'to have' or 'possess' or 'to apportion', alternatively NOMOS meaning 'law'.

I hope this answers your question in multiple ways...

P.S. keep buying gold on dips..
